Below are examples of some of the restorations done by Jeff's Taxidermy.
TIGER RUG
This tiger rug was approximately 80 years old and had been stored in a trunk for the past 30 years. The rug was severely damaged by insects and dry rot. It had years of dirt and grime and the owner thought it may be beyond repair. Jeff's Taxidermy relined, cleaned and restored the rug.
This picture shows how the skin around the
mouth had separated from the head. Most
of the Tiger's original teeth were missing
or were cracked.
The nose was also severely damaged
and in need of repair.
The ears were split and large pieces
were missing.
It took approximately 16 hours to clean the dirt
that had accumulated over the last century.
All which had to be done by hand.
Careful consideration was given not to allow the skin to become too wet. Small areas were done and dried before moving on.
The skin had separated in many areas and the Tiger's
Stripes were faded. The tail had nearly torn off from dry rot.
